Travelling¶
Players travel between major locations aboard the Undernational Railway. Each accessible region has its own station, with the Railway Guard selling passage to the available destinations.
Available stations¶
- Mysteria — Mysteria Station
- The Forest — Forest Station
- Ghost Town — Ghost Town Station
Additional destinations will appear as new regions are opened to players.
Buying a ticket¶
A railway ticket costs 100 Gold, regardless of destination. Tickets cannot be purchased while the player is already occupied by another timed activity.
After a ticket is purchased:
- 100 Gold is removed from the player's carried Gold.
- The player boards the train immediately.
- Their current location changes to On the train.
- A destination-specific travel timer begins.
- The destination becomes the player's active location when the timer expires.
Note
Travel time is measured separately for each destination. It is not included in the flat ticket price.
During the journey¶
The railway page displays:
- the destination;
- an animated progress bar;
- elapsed journey time;
- remaining journey time; and
- changing atmospheric descriptions from inside the train.
The timer continues on the server even when the railway page is closed. Returning to the page shows the current progress rather than restarting the journey.
While aboard the train, the player is considered to be at location 0 and remains committed to the travel action. When the timer completes, refreshing or revisiting the railway page finalises the arrival and updates the game header to the new location.
Travel restrictions¶
A player cannot buy another ticket while:
- already travelling;
- taking part in another timed action; or
- otherwise marked as busy by the game.
The Railway Guard will refuse the purchase without taking Gold.
Coming destinations¶
The railway network may later expand to regions including:
- Abyssal Pits;
- Infernal Mines;
- Blood Marsh;
- Obsidian Spire; and
- Forgotten Ruins.
These destinations are planned network extensions and are not currently guaranteed to be accessible.
